Creativity

Hello once again,

In the theme of releasing blogs every Friday, I decided to do a short one today on the theme of creativity.

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been having a bit of a dilemma with both creative drive and direction. I have been reading the books Effortless Mastery and Free Play which have been giving me a bit of an insight into how others view the creative process within music, such as exploring music with others, letting go of yourself in the music, and how you view performance as a whole.

As good as this is, I often find that the answers I seek never come from music, but rather from other disciplines. For me, cooking has been one of those outlets that gave me a new perspective on music. I forget how I connected to that specifically as it’s a fleeting concept for me.

The book Originals by Adam Grant has been a large inspiration for me, as he talks about people in the general industry making change. He spoke about how the artistic endeavours of entrepreneurs have been attributed to people who make breakthroughs in the field.

On that thought, I have started to do some painting, writing creatively, and even dance when listening to music.

As I said, this is a short one. I don’t plan on explaining when learning grammar and writing down becomes art or even the mantras one should follow in this pursuit.

Just enjoy some of the paintings that have been done in recent weeks. See you next time.
